Thumbs up Builds that became a legend!

well, played for a while on combetition arena these days and saw many, many strange things that I never thought that I could see...

1. Actually my friend encounter this "Mo/E" I figured that he/she uses Flare, Whirling wind and lightning orb, then he died...after rez she continued with gale, inferno and then a Healing Breeze!! astonishing!

2. Warrior...our monk in my team mentioned that he heals 2 times him and 2 of our teammates including monk with heal area...remarkable choise for a warrior!! almost felt sorry for their ele who tried his aoe ...

3. again the monk! at the start he used aura of restoration and when i asked why he used that he said that he dont have infinite mana ...I dont know what to say.. Amazing!

couple of times i have seen some warriors with staff or wands and so on...but maybe there is some thing that i cant understand...

...sorry my eyes are so wet that i cant continue anymore, maybe you my fellow travellers can make some additions...

Ah, funny character builds... yes...yes.
I've seen a few that made me drop my jaw in puzzlement.

There was this Mo/E... but i guess it could have been your friend's friend. I was on my monk and doing Thunderhead Keep to help a friend. We let in a random invite monk (big mistake, should best have simply kept to our flist). Well... two monks is more than enough for a simple mission as thunderhead and so we started.
I strangely felt a heavy healing pressure upon myself and even though i'm having several means of controlling energy i was constantly drained dry. That was when i had to heal the other monk on the team and... saw her... casting... Firestorm.

The second one was a random take again. We were on our way into the Underworld and our typical team was one person short. So we invited a person from the temple of ages. There he was... an elementalist. "Man, let him in. An ele can't do that much wrong can he?" Little did we know. There he was bringing a fabolous E/W into the battle.
"What is your attribute there pal?"
"Fire"
"Okay... bring glyph of concentration then, else the mindblades will rip your spells"
"Nah, doesn't matter"
"You sure?"
"Yay"

Well... that should have been a warning. We went down and for a strange reason this ele was constantly getting personal with the mobs. Then all of a sudden someone on teamsay was like
"Wait... he didn't just use sprint.. did he?"
"No clue, but he's wielding a newbie sword"
"Man, you're kidding.. look at his skills... flare with no damage and... oh man... SEVER ARTERY."

Yeah... turned out it was an elementalist who thought he'd been a spellcasting uberwarrior. -.-

I once played in Arenas with a Warrior/Monk, who was pure healing. I was like 'Dude, you're a warrior - why the heals?'

He said to me 'u noob, warriorz dnt get trgted liek munks. i can heal and not be trgted this way.'

No, you cannot heal - he had no energy, regen, or good healing power.

actually i was thinking about trying a warrior healer build. cast spirit on the monk or something. it *could* work. of course anything *could* work.

and an E/W. if he was using Geomancy skills then it could be a good idea. fire though...

and, as soon as someone noticed that the warrior was actually a monk they would pound the crap out of him anyway... wouldn't they?

MY character used to be a Me/W which was a bit dodgy as mesmer armour is a bit rubbish. So it did come in handy when I would hang back, cast and protect the other casters but if we got overwhelmed I would be useless, hance why I'm now a full fledged caster.

It might sound harsh but aren't those normal skills for Monk / Elementists O_o

It's about skills and how you use them ;p

Like Warrior / Monk for runners, they use their knowledge to get past monsters and other hindrances and learn how to use their skills while running.

That's pretty exceptional to me, even though the skills you need are not hard to get.

Actually if it were me I'd leave him alive. Worthless wasting time trying to kill him

Ever met a minion master with bone horrors, bone fiends, bone minions, Verata's Sacrifice and Heal Area but 0 Soul Reaping? (3 minions at a time have ben much for him, we kicked him fast)

And a 16 13 Healing FiBoon Monk/Necro with a blue sword that gives +5 energy and +30 health (and he says he payed 500k for it) that ALWAYS dies with 0 energy in melee range?
But thats just the top of the iceberg of Warriors with Bows and Fire Wands and barely secondary class attributes whatsoever.
Not to mention the huge ammount of Warriors that cast mending only on self with the argument NOT to be the AI's target.

I have met them... in Sorrow`s Furnace!

my pvp warrior is W/N and owns

what i do is quickly run in with wand and use most of my energy on the tanks then quickly charge in and switch to axe and hopefully eviscerate their remaining health

and when i'l getting chased i switch to truncheon and consume corpse, lol making it very annoying for them

I played a N/W once in PvE and it worked quiet well.
Yes i was a tank using blood magic, soulreaping(only on 3 when i had al atribute points) and sword. While i was slashing up the enemy i could keep up my own health, the health of the other warriors by use of Well of Blood(later changed to well of power) and i got energy from evry corpse.
So my conclusion is....
You can make evry proffesion combo as long as you keep a look on your skills and combo's of those skills.

Realy even a monk with a bow can do great things(just think when you pick your skills )

I agree with Draco, this game is so balanced that you can put together any two professions and make something great out of it. It's all about knowledge of your skills and knowing your role.

Blabla.
Sure someone can do that, but this thread is about folks who CAN'T do that. Who most obviously simply clicked skills because they like how they sound or some other silly reason. A monk firing Firespells is just... ugh. I can understand a Mesmer (Fastcasting Spells) or a Necromancer (Soulreaping is your best friend while nuking). But i can't understand using a monk for it. The only good thing about a monk/Ele is you will get top priority when it comes to your battery necromancer as he, just like your team, thought you'd be a MONK... not a halfassed Elementalist.
And what use is a PYROmancer / Warrior? Geomancer i could understand... atleast you'd have a decent armor (a real decent one). But what use is a Pyro/Warrior? Just for Conjure Flame? Awww come on, can you screw your team any more over other than bringing this build?

I think the saddest thing I've ever seen in this game was when
I went to HoH for the first time. I went into a PUG, or rather, the
group was looking around, saw me, and was like' OMGSQUEEEEMONKMONK
UNPART33DLOLOLOLINVITE!!!!124332ONEONESHIFTELEVEN! !!!?'

Went in, did the whole 'healer' thing. Casted Healing Seed on the W/E
(Wayyyyy back when seed didn't suck) and looked at his skill bar.

He..

Was...

Casting...

Meteor...

Shower...

I disappeared from that group like a set of rims at a Puff Daddy concert.

ROTFL!
I should bookmark this for anyone that claims 'take a monk/ele/war. you can't go wrong with them. kick the necro/ranger/mesmer'
The ele was partly right when he wasn't to concerned about the mindblades though.
firestorming monk....that is sad....

Well my lil Frioend .. lee tell u somehting ... this its my PJ

E/Monk
Energy storage 10 (INFINITE MANA)
Healing Prayers 12
Ligthing Dramage 8

Skills

Rstore life
Divine Boom
heal other
orision
heling breeze
Infuse health (very usefull when u got 566 health with runes)
Gale
Binding Flash

PLay

ITS EASYYY ... eney players think ur an ele ... jsut stay out of theyr way and no on e will harm u .... (untill they notice ur a monk) .. u can heal FO REVER cause u have infinite mana ..... (if u run out .. u can use energy storage skills ......) and the only ppl that reallly atack me are wars in the fire islands arena ... cause they think im a ele with my puny armor .. so then i just blind him (gives me 8 secs to recover) and gale him (goes to the ground gor 3 secs so i can run) .. also some times u use fire isntead of ligthing .... and i use Phenix and Metoer shower (with glysph of lesser energy f cousrse) . i cast in on myself .. and then i start casting fenix .. hen he sees the dsramage hes taking .... he runs o another taget .... my only problem so far .. are rangers (i wish i could use swirling aura with the fire atribute )

well ... so far this build has worked on Team Arenas .... im still have to try it on Tournamet but it has done good in Guild batle

Also .. i had a W/Mo that had a full gladiator set ..... so he had 40 mana .... now ... he used a vampiric hammer ... so i didnt need tto heal myself at all ... (also had mending on) ... so .. let see ... mmmm what could i do with 40 mana and healig breeze whyle my teammates are getting raped?? .......
HEAL!!!!!

(i migth have quoted the wrong post .... some one up there said that E/Mo are crap ...)

Yea that is pretty bad although sometimes we have warriors use gale or shock for a kd. Anyway, isn't casting a seed on your warrior kind of wasteful...

I think I played with that gal yesterday. He went "dont u lecture me ive beaten the game!" when I asked why the hell he was trying to be a nuker as a warrior. I just sighed and went on with the game. By the way, being l20 and having an elite didnt prevent him from taking damage as fast as the L14 warrior that was also in the party(who got lost twice... we managed to finish the mission thanks to him though).
